Sunday Night Suds - Saranac Hefeweizen

Tonight's Sunday Tenebrosity Suds review looks at Saranac's Hefeweizen. Although sometimes screwed-up with an American Wheat Ale, a Hefeweizen is a quite different tea. Unlike American Wheat Ales, a firm Hefeweizen contains a correspondence of 50:50 (or even higher) wheat with a yeast that produces a unequalled flavor, closely resembling banana. The "hefe" prefix means "with yeast" and the "weizen" means wheat beer.

I can think back to the first few hefeweizens that I tried and how I could not drop the (mistaken) sensation that the beers were flavored, even though the labels certainly indicated that they were neither spiced nor flavored. I afterwards learned that weisse (wheat) beers have a precise flavor that is clove like in class which is derived from the brewing approach. The hefeweizen has an even more tense flavor that has that banana-like after drop.

The Saranac Hefeweizen has an amber color and a paltry foam. In my thought it is best sotted cold by itself, without any accompanying nutriment. I had mine tonight with a sefer after operation around in the sun all day and it was truly stimulating. I shared some with my aishes chayil and she too remarked how gain it was. Still, I would not drink this with victuals as the unique flavor would as likely as not clash with a go overboard, although maybe it could go with banana coagulate...
